About Jeff

"I am lucky enough as to have quite a few talented friends, but Jeff Alan Ross still manages to stand out.  A creative writer, a remarkable singer and an exceptional musician I continue to find his musical input, his playing and arranging skills and his exceptionally helpful demeanour to be invaluable – perhaps second only in importance to his loyal and rewarding friendship.  I am proud to be a fan." -- Peter Asher (Grammy Award Winning Producer: James Taylor, Linda Ronstadt)

In the 1980's, Jeff became a member of the legendary Apple band, Badfinger, singing such classics as "No Matter What," "Day After Day," and the recently revived (by way of Breaking Bad) “Baby Blue.” In 1999, the late Bob Birch (bassist with Elton John) introduced Jeff to his bandmate at the time, John Jorgenson. John, a world reknown guitarist also of The Hellecasters and Desert Rose Band fame, asked Jeff to join his original electric group, and he toured the world with John until 2013.

Notably Jeff has toured with Badfinger, John Jorgensen, Mick Taylor (Rolling Stones), 60's teen idol Johnny Tillotson, Gerry Marsden (Gerry & The Pacemakers), Denny Laine (Moody Blues, Wings), Terry Sylvester (The Hollies), Tommy Cash and guitar legend, Albert Lee.

Jeff was the musical director for the reunion of 60s British invasion duo Peter & Gordon, until Gordon’s untimely passing in 2009. He remains Peter Asher’s musical director and co-producer for the show, “Peter Asher: A Memoir of the 60’s and Beyond.” He recently was a part of the Buddy Holly tribute album (produced by Peter Asher) and television special, Listen To Me, where he performed with Stevie Nicks, Lyle Lovett, Chris Isaak, Graham Nash, Shawn Colvin, Cobra Starship, Patrick Stump and Paul Anka. Jeff also has added keyboard and guitar tracks to the Grammy award winning album by Steve Martin and Edie Brickell. “Love Has Come For You,” and the 40th anniversary remakes for Elton John’s “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road.” Most recently, he added his talents on the new Steve Martin and Edie Brickell album “So Familiar” and performed with them on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.
